This Choose-Your-Own Open League (CYO-OPEN) is a social non-competitive league which invites teams of all ages and abilities to play. The league features mens, womens, mixed, junior and any other combination that you can put together. Games are Monday at 5:00 pm, 7:15 and 9:30 pm Team league fee is $100. At the end of the regular season, teams compete in a three week playoff to determine the event champions. Each playoff win is worth $40.
REGULAR SEASON 2025-2026
This league is a social non-competitive league and as such the rules are set with that in mind. Winning a game, or the championship, will not allow you to retire early, so take to the ice with the focus to have a good time, make a shot or two, and if you win, then that is a bonus.
Last End Rule:
For the 5:00 pm games, do NOT start another end if the clock reads 6:55 or later
For the 7:15 games, do NOT start another end if the clock reads 9:10 or later.
For the 9:30 games, do NOT start another end if the clock reads 11:25 or later.
This affords the teams 10 minutes of slow play without delaying the start of the games that follow.
Please be on the ice five minutes early to do the handshakes, coin toss and practice slide.
Spare Rule:
Teams must have two original members to have a legal game ... if you cannot field a legal team ... take the loss, and field an illegal team ...
Spares must throw lead, or lead and second if you have two spares ... Spares may call the game or hold vice broom.
Try to find a spare with similar skill as the absent player... Please follow Brant Curling policy regarding spares and fees.
There are teams that have five person teams, so their fifth player may be available to spare.
